Spano Wins; Wolfe, Garcia Defeated in Abilene Elections

In a hotly contested race, incumbent Joe Spano defeated challenger Jim Holzberlein to keep his seat on the Abilene City Council, 58% to 42%.

However, Abilene ISD School Board incumbents Charlie Wolfe and Samuel Garcia both lost. Dr. Shane Davidson and Randy Piersall will replace them on the school board.

In Wylie ISD School Board race, Dr. Stephen Lowry defeated Ricky Thomas for Place 6, while Mark McClellan defeated John William Thomas for Place 7.
