Updated: May 12, 2012
Randy Piersall won AISD Place 2 over Sammy Garcia by 64% of the vote.

The first time runner said he was not expecting the win for his first race, but was pleasantly surprised by the victory.

"I've kind of come into it with the expectation that winning wasn't really going to be an option. So I'm completely surprised," said Piersall. "Sammy was a good opponent. Just shocked, and happy."

Piersall said that he is now ready to hit the ground running, get to know the issues and other board members and get to work.
