Abilene Prairie Dogs' Open Tryout On Sunday May 12th

Abilene, Texas --- People interested in playing professional baseball will get the opportunity to make the Abilene Prairie Dogs 2012 roster at their tryout this weekend.

The Prairie Dogs will host an open tryout at Abilene High School on Sunday, May 13.

Tryout registration opens at 8 a.m. and players will take the field at 9 a.m. Early registration is also available by calling the Prairie Dogs front office at (325) 437-6555.

The tryout is $50 per person, and players are required to bring their own equipment, including baseball pants, hats and cleats. Prairie Dogs Manager Bobby Brown will run the tryout along with the help of his coaching staff.

The Prairie Dogs are the newest team in the United League, and players who attend the tryout will have the opportunity to be on the first roster in franchise history.

The Abilene Prairie Dogs are a member of United League Baseball who will play their first season in 2012. Season ticket plans are on sale now, and are available by calling the Prairie Dogs front office at (325) 437-6555.
