Two term incumbent Joe Spano won re-election for Place 2.

Spano held off a challenge from Jim Holzberlein, taking home 58 percent of the vote to Holzberlein's 42 percent.

Spano expressed his excitement after learning he'd been elected to serve a third term for Abilene's City Council.

"I'm feeling real good and I want to thank the voters for putting me back here for another term," said Spano.  "The budget session is coming up so we'll keep the budget tight like we have the last  four years and I want to concentrate  alot on infrastructure and infield development."

Spano was at home with family and friends when he found out about the win where they soon celebrated afterward.
