Law enforcement officers captured two men a strange traffic stop in west Abilene late Sunday night.

A Department of Public Safety officer stopped a car for a traffic violation on Interstate 20 when the driver jumped out and ran.

Police officers from Abilene, Tye and Merkel along with Taylor County Sheriff's Officers joined the search.

The officers found and arrested 23-year-old Brandon Paul Sanders and 28-year-old Jason Christopher Putnam, who now face felony charges instead the traffic violation charges the would have had if they would have stopped for the police officers.
