ATEMS Students Get Hands-On Aviation Experience

By: Natalie Ferrari
Updated: May 14, 2012
A number of local engineering students had the opportunity to receive some hands-on experience in the world of aviation Monday.

The Academy for Technology, Engineering, Math and Science (ATEMS) teamed up with Texas State Technical College earlier this morning for their First Annual Aviation Day.

The students participated in introductory flights with the TSTC instructors and toured their aircraft maintenance facilities.

The experience provided a unique learning atmosphere for their "technically oriented" students.

Instructors and students say they hope to be able to celebrate Aviation Day for years to come.
