Law enforcement in Brownwood gathered this morning to honor the officers who were killed in the line of duty in observance of National Police Week.

Organizers conducted a brief ceremony to give officers a chance to grieve and demonstrate their respect for the officers who were killed during the past year.

As a bugler played Taps, the names of the law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty last year were read aloud.

Similar Police Week events are going on across the nation.
