Abilene Housing Market Trending for Buyers, Sellers

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: May 15, 2012
Normally the housing market either favors buyers or sellers, but the way market trends in Abilene have been going lately, realtors say it's been both.

Housing sales for the first four months of the year are up $10 million compared to the same time last year.

Not only are sellers more easily getting their homes off the market, but historically low interest rates have more buyers looking.

"Abilene is a strong market, both buying and selling," says Texas Realtor Earl Foster. "And we're in a very good situation here in Abilene."

Realtors expect the market to stay active for the rest of the summer.
