The Eagles return 18 starters from the state quarterfinalist team from 2011, but that doesn't mean there wasn't work to be done. Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals. That was the focus for the 2012 spring season for Head Coach Steve Warren.
"You know, the Evan Abbes, the Marcell Porters, the Jake McMillians, the Tyler Lackeys, they come out everyday and work hard. That's all we ask them to do, you know, a lot of guys who feel secure in their position wont do that, and we make sure they understand that they better not feel secure in their position because someone will take it." Says Head Coach Steve Warren.
The Black/Gold Game is coming up on Friday night.
But before that game, The Eagles host the Game of Champions. It is a football game played by mentally challenged and disabled students from here in Abilene. All proceeds from that game and the Black/Gold scrimmage go to the Children's Miracle Network.
