A man accused of climbing a fence and escaping from the Taylor County Jail late last year will go to trial on the charges.

Investigators say Dustin Lynn Bates escaped from the jail in November, then stole a truck from the Abilene State Supported Living Center and leading authorities on a high-speed chase through town.

He was finally captured at Interstate 20 and Loop 322 where police used spike strips to stop him.

Bates was indicted today on escape and meth charges.
