"Come to the car wash! Come on!" Dyess airmen were yelling along the streets today.

Members of the Dyess We Care Team were out washing cars to raise money for Abilene and Cooper High Schools' Project Graduation.

"We do this every year to donate money so the seniors can be locked in the civic center to avoid them from having to drink and drive and potentially getting in trouble and everything on the outside," said car was team leader and senior airman John Tomsich.

Many members of the we care team find this cause important, as it wasn't too long since most of them were in high school.

"You know, airmen like myself are only 21 years old, it wasn't that long ago that we were in high school and things like that," said Tomsich. "I personally never had things like that done for me so, me personally, I think it's a great cause to help the seniors obviously make those last final memories."

Even airmen from Dyess of all different military rankings show up to the car wash to show their support and to make donations to project graduation.

"Most of the people that come out here are military members and spouses belonging over to Dyess air force base. And ranking all the way from airman basic to O-6 colonel that come out and help us," Tomsich said.

The team is looking to raise two thousand dollars, money that will go towards gifts and prizes that night. But it's the memories that the graduates will make that is most important to the we care team.

"We give them all kinds of opportunities at project graduation. Pictures, camera, giveaways and things of that nature," said Tomsich. "It really builds their relationships and friendships up for the years to come when they go to college."
