Abilene Kennel Club Sees Large Turnout at Dog Show

All of the dogs have packed up and left Abilene after "best in show" was awarded this evening and the dog show weekend wrapped up.

The Abilene Kennel Club said they saw a good turnout this year, with about 700 dogs from Texas and surrounding states. There were even some from as far as Washington. And the better turnout is being attributed to moving the show to may and making it a three day show.

"We've had a better turnout than we did last year," said Pat Brannon, kennel club publicity chair. "We have expanded to a three day show , which people like to come because you can accumulate more points or finish more titles in that length of time."

The kennel club does hold meetings open to all dog lovers the second Tuesday of each month at the Mockingbird library branch.
