HSU's Footer Qualifies For NCAA Finals

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- Hardin-Simmons freshman hurdler Derek Footer moved into the NCAA finals with a 14.51 in the preliminaries on Friday evening at Claremont Mudd Scripps Colleges in Claremont, Calif.
 
Footer finished third in his heat and was one of the six fastest non-winning times in the prelims to advance to the NCAA Finals on Saturday. The final is slated for 4:25 CST on Saturday.
 
Footer is looking to become the school's first Divsision III men's track All-American in the four-year history of the program.
