The 13th annual Greathouse/FCA All-Star Classic is coming up on Saturday and Steven Lugo is 1 of 6 former Cooper Cougars in the game.

He helped lead Cooper to it's 4th appearance in the 3rd round of the playoffs on offense and defense in 2012, and he looks forward to Saturday's game. "I think it's a huge deal being selected to play in this all-star game. Being able to conclude my football season at Cooper is a big privilege. I'm honored to have been chosen," Lugo says.

Lugo hopes to remain involved with the program. "The relationships formed with my former brothers will always be there. Being able to get back in the weight room and giving them advice for the future 2013 Coogs or 2012 Coogs. Just sharing my personal experience going through four years of football there at Cooper," Lugo adds. "It's kind of one of our mottos: expecting to win. We go into a game not cocky but confident that we're going to come out on top and that we've prepared ourselves better than our opponent. Not only through our two-a-days but through our offseason workouts pushing ourselves further," Lugo says.

The benefits from playing in the FCA All-Star Classic extends beyond the field. "This is a great opportunity to become closer to God. It's God's sport. I feel like this is more than a game. It's getting closer to God," Lugo adds.

The Greathouse/FCA All-Star Classic is Saturday at 7. You can see that game live on KTAB. The girls basketball game is at Moody Coliseum at ACU. That game will tip at noon. You can watch it live on bigcountryhomepage.com.
