The 13th annual Greathouse/FCA All-Star  Classic is Saturday night at Shotwell Stadium. Paxton Grayer leads a group of 3 Abilene High Eagles onto the field.

Grayer was stand out running back for the Eagles as the made their run to the state quarterfinals, and he considers it an honor to be in this week's all-star game. "I think it's still a big deal. It's an honor just because the fact that not everybody gets chosen. It's one of those things where a few select people (get selected). I can probably count them on two hands -- toes, too," Grayer says.

He'll also get the chance to play alongside some of his future teammates. "I think it is a big deal. It's going to be fun. I look forward to just meeting everybody. A couple McMurry recruits are playing too. So also do a little bonding," Grayer adds.

Grayer was also happy to reflect on his high school career. "My four years at Abilene high have been real fun playing football. I've met a lot of guys, made a lot of friends -- friends that I'll keep in contact with me until my death. Great coaches. I learned a lot coming from there. They got me bigger, ready, stronger, faster, just prepared for the next level. I thank them for that. It's been fun. If I could do high school all over again I would," Grayer says.

The faith aspect of the game is also appealing to Grayer. "I really didn't know how seriously they take it with the Christianity part being in it and everything. At first I was a little iffy about it. Kind of seeing it as just entertainment. I think it will be good just to teach some other people with me growing in my faith and everything. I already look forward to growing in some kind of way and hearing other people give their testimonies," Grayer adds.

The Greathouse/FCA All-Star Classic is Saturday at 7. You can see that game live on KTAB. The girls basketball game is at Moody Coliseum at ACU. That game will tip at noon. You can watch it live on bigcountryhomepage.com.
