The Greathouse/FCA All-Star football game is coming up on Saturday.

Former Wylie receiver Richard Bloomer was the Bulldogs leading receiver in 2012, and he is ready to finish his football career in this week's all-star game.

Oh, it's definitely a big deal. All that hard work that you've put in through, like, trying to be a great christian when you're playing football.  Showing everyone else how you need to play football instead of celebrating and all that stuff. It's a big honor."

Bloomer says that he would never trade his years at Wylie. He said, "The way you do things at Wylie is different from other schools. Coach Sandifer taught us so well to be disciplined and just to play as a team and not play by yourself. I am definitely miss that attitude with playing football and people you play with. All those guys that I played with for 2 years, all of the years that I had they're always going to be my best friends. Just getting to know them and having all that fun time with them. All that bonding and all the coaches, because the coaches are great."

Bloomer says that being a member of the FCA is a great life lesson for all kids. He said, "It teaches you that you don't have, you can be a Christian and do the right thing when you are playing sports.  Not even sports, like, what you do thought out the day. It just teaches you how to do things better, how to be a better person in connecting with God, and how to be a better Christian."

The Greathouse/FCA All-Star Classic is Saturday at 7. You can see that game live on KTAB. The girls basketball game is at Moody Coliseum at ACU. That game will tip at noon. You can watch it live on bigcountryhomepage.com.
