Updated: May 29, 2012
Brownwood sheriff incumbent Bobby Grubbs celebrated his big win with family and friends in downtown Brownwood.

He was up against newcomer Brock Johnson who worked for the Brownwood Police Department for 12 years.

Both candidates began checking the polls since the early morning hours, however in the end it was Grubbs who accepted another victory.

"We're going to continue basically the way we have with the narcotic enforcement we've got a  good program in effect right now," said Grubbs, "and its kind of like if its not broke there's no use fixing it.  It's been productive and were going to continue with it."

Grubbs opponent Brock Johnson also gathered with friends and family to await the results.  He made sure to congratulate Grubbs on his victory, and talk about his experience throughout the race.

"Well its all new to me, the politics new for me and its a learning experience for me," he said, "but I've been very optimistic and just went with it with a good point of view  and my wife helped me a lot  and it was definitely a learning experience."

Bobby Grubbs will enter into his third term.  He says he's happy the elections are over and thanks his supporters for making another win possible.
