New Coleman Water, Sewage Rates Effective June 1

The Coleman City Council and the 4-A Economic Development Board held a joint meeting Thursday evening.

The meeting began with the second and final reading of ordinance 11.30 to increase the water and sewer rates by Mayor Carolyn Merriman, effective June 1.

The water rate increases the flat rate for residential and commercial properties to $28.31 with volumetric charges per 1,000 gallons.

The increases also includes a charge to an irrigation household of $14.15 where there was not a charge before.

Sewer customer charge will increase to $21.97.

The Council accepted the reading of the ordinance.
