Annual Quilt Show Sees Large Turnout

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: June 2, 2012
With 25 venders and exhibitors and 220 quilts on display, the Abilene Quilters Guild has seen a large turnout to their 18th annual show. And the guild says a lot of this is because people simply love the tradition of quilts.

"I think that people long to kind of go back to more traditional things and if you can wrap up in a quilt, it makes you feel good and it reminds you of maybe grandma or some loved one," said publicity chair Linda Calame.  "And so Ithink the art of quilting is still alive and doing well.">>

The guild has also raised over two thousand dollars so far for the West Central Food Bank.
