Kathleen Wolaber is the chairwoman of the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association (TBPA), "We're all British, and the Queen has ruled for 60 years. It's a celebration over the Old Country".
The women gathered at Jason's Deli to recognize the event, and told us why this was so important to them, "The Queen stands for stability in this world, where chaos seems to be ruling", says TBPA treasurer, Blanche Jerige.
This association offers fellowship and a little slice of home for British transplants. "When I came to Abilene and found out I was going to be staying here for a while, if I had not found the TBPA, I don't know what I would have done, because they became my family", says TBPA member, Beryl Gavin-Ketchen.
The ladies told us there is a four day street party happening in England for this royal celebration, but here in Abilene, her majesty the Queen was certainly honored this evening.
