Updated: June 4, 2012
The Snyder City Council is scheduled to appoint a representative for District 3 during Monday night's meeting.

According to the agenda, the council will vote on the appointment of Steve Highfield as the councilman for the district. No one signed up to run for the seat for last month's municipal elections.

After the vote, Highfield, Stephanie Ducheneaux, Vernon Clay and Abel De-Loera will take the oath of office for their respective seats.

The council is also scheduled to appoint a mayor pro-tem.

Council members also are scheduled to hear the second reading of an ordinance regulating the keeping of animals within the city limits, providing criminal penalties, providing a savings clause and providing for publication.

Last month, the council tabled the ordinance.
