The Brown County Rodeo kicks off this weekend with a parade, dance and tons of other fun events. Ashley Garrett, from the Brown County Fair Association explains what to expect at this year's big event.

For Garrett, the past few months have been a blur!  Garret earned the title of "Rodeo Queen" with the Brown County Fair Association in January, and since that time has looked forward to her part in the upcoming Brown County Rodeo!

"It's really awesome to represent Brown County," says Garret, "they do so much at the rodeo and even at the local youth fair all the money that's raised from the premium sale goes straight to the kids."

The Rodeo kicks of Thursday, with events lasting through the weekend. As Queen, Garret will ride along side Miss Rode Texas in Saturday's Parade, along with sign autographs Friday and Saturday during Rodeo events. By far her biggest honor, however, will be leading the Grand Entry carrying the American Flag.

The annual rodeo is one of the biggest events each year in Brown County, never failing to draw a crowd hungry for boots, spurs, and of course a lot of cowboys ready to show what they've got on a bull.

"There's always a big crowd," says Garret. "I don't know how it could really get any bigger!"

Saturday night, Brown County residents and rodeo-goers can put on their dancing shoes and enjoy the sounds of Pauline Reece at the Rodeo's big dance.

For Garret, it's the Bull Riding she can't wait to watch.

"It's my favorite," she says, "that's always the one that I want to watch!"

Though she's never jumped on a bull for herself, Garret says she isn't opposed to the idea and would definitely give it a try, given the opportunity.

"My life dream is to ride a real bull before I die!" she explains.
