It has been a rough couple of years for businesses in downtown Cisco. As the road construction continues, some business owners are left frustrated.

Dan Griffith runs his antique shop in the midst of all the road work. "We are kind of perturbed about the length of time it's taken and the way they've handled it. We kind of feel like they haven't done it justice", says Griffith.

Griffith tells us he's dealt with the construction for almost two years now, "I understood it would be a thirteen month job, and I don't think there's any way they could finish this year, based on what I see ".

Local business owners on Conrad Hilton Boulevard, such as Griffith's Texas Stuff Antique Store, worry that the roads will deter customers from visiting his shop.

"It's a long way to go, and if you're passing through, like people who were just here from Midland, although he's been here before, and bought here, and wanted to stop here, he's not going to do that probably. So that's the problem I'll have", says Griffith.

Until the streets make for a smooth drive with accessible parking, downtown Cisco remains slow and quiet, which owners say is similar to the construction.

Currently, the road construction is partially complete in downtown Cisco.
