It sneaks up on you if you aren't familiar with the area.
"Turning onto First, it causes a hazard," says Allen Parker, a postal worker.
Potholes at the intersection of North 1st Street and Plaza Street have caused problems for drivers for quite some time.
The city of Abilene has come out to the site to make repairs.
Gonzales says, "They came out that one day, the one day only and that was it."
Residents say, one spot was repaired while the other one was not.
"It puts wear and tear on the vehicle, from hitting the pot hole," Parker adds.
"I came through here one day and hit that pot hole about 11:00 at night time and it messed up my car and I don't think the city should have left that like that," says Gonzales.
Gonzales let me ride with him down the block just to see the condition of his car since hitting the pot hole.
He says, "It threw the alignment off of my car and my car has been messed up ever since."
Gonzales has lived near this intersection for 20 years and thinks the issue essentially boils down to which side of the tracks you sit on.
He says, "If this had been more on the south side, it would have been repaired. It wouldn't have been left like that. But since we're put in the hood as they classify, this is the hood. I feel it was just neglected. Something should have been done about it."
