Snyder Police Investigating Stabbing Near High School

Snyder police are investigating an early-morning stabbing that occurred roughly two blocks from Snyder High School.

Police responded to the stabbing around 4 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of 41st Street. Police Chief Terry Luecke said there were witnesses to the incident, which began as an argument and escalated into the violent confrontation.

Officials have not released the name of the 22-year-old victim, who was transported by Scurry County EMS to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he is being treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Police have a male suspect in the knife assault, but he is not in custody.

He could face a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
