Camp Volunteer Robbed at Gunpoint on ACU Campus

Updated: June 11, 2012
According to ACU Police, two suspects robbed a Leadership Camps staff volunteer at gunpoint Monday morning after burgling a vehicle.

ACU Chief of Police Jimmy Ellison reports that two suspects parked their vehicle at Barret residence hall on the campus around 7:05 Monday morning. They got out, began to peer into cars and eventually burgled one.

One of the suspects then approached the volunteer, who was standing in the same parking lot, and robbed him at gunpoint. He was uninjured.

The suspects fled the campus immediately after the robbery and were seen heading northbound toward Ambler in a maroon four-door compact car, Ellison reports.

ACUPD says they are working closely with the Abilene Police Department in investigating this incident, which they believe may be connected to two other similar robberies that occurred in Abilene Monday morning.

Anyone with information regarding this crime should contact ACUPD at 325-674-2305, or CrimeStoppers at 676-TIPS.
