The Summer PASS program stands for "person appointed to stay sober."
TxDOT officials say the number of traffic accidents involving drunk drivers increases every year between May and August.
The Summer PASS would be charged with getting everyone home safely.
TxDOT reports that adults between 21-and-24 years old are most misinformed about the effects of alcohol on their ability to drive safely.
The blood alcohol level for legal intoxication is .08 in all 50 states.
