Motorcycle, Scooter Enthusiasts to Celebrate 'Ride to Work' Day

By: News Release
Updated: June 13, 2012
The 21st Annual International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day will take place all over the world Monday, June 18, 2012. Ride to Work Day is held each year to promote the value of motorcycle and scooter transportation while highlighting motorcycle and scooter safety as well as public awareness.

In Abilene, motorcycle and scooter owners are invited to celebrate Ride to Work Day by gathering with their motorcycle or scooter in front of City Hall, located at 555 Walnut St., at 11:00 a.m. The group will then ride to Kent's Harley Davidson, located at 3106 South Clack St., for a free hamburger lunch.

"Ride to Work Day is a great opportunity for anyone who rides motorcycles or scooters to get together," said Dean Cater, Abilene's Ride to Work Coordinator. "We can heighten motorcycle and scooter awareness in our community and make Abilene a safer place to ride."

For more information about the International Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day, visit www.ridetowork.org or contact Abilene's Ride to Work Coordinator Dean Carter at 325-437-4542.
