An Abilene man accused of seriously injuring an 11-month-old baby was indicted by a grand jury today.

Police arrested Efe Omo Idehen in January on charges of injury to a child.

Idehen told police he placed the baby in a bathtub for a bath, knowing that the water was extremely hot. He said the child was crying, but he didn't worry because the baby always cried during baths.

When Idehen lifted the child out of the water, skin had been removed from the child's legs.

The child was taken to Hendrick Medical Center, then to Parkland Hospital's burn unit in Dallas for treatment.

Idehen is out of jail on $75,000 bond.
