This was an occasion the Calvary Baptist Church on Minter Lane in Abilene wanted to remember.

A new steeple, after months of prep work, will finally be the highest point of the church once again.

But that's not all the work that is going on here: the carpet in the sanctuary has just been replaced, the pews will all be reupholstered, and even a new air conditioner unit was installed, and it was all due to a storm.

The reason the repairs took so long is because the church couldn't find anybody who wanted to do the work.

That's when Mario Quinonez with Midwest Homes came forward and said his company was willing to make the repairs.

And as of Thursday night, the steeple has a new home on top of Calvary Baptist Church, right where the congregation says it belongs.
