For tonight, King, Kent, and Stonewall Counties have been placed under a Severe Weather Watch until 2am. Storms are expected to continue traveling east from Lubbock, arriving sometime after midnight. Any storm activity should remain mainly north of Interstate 20.
A line of weak to moderate storms has been developing along the dryline this evening, moving slowly east at around 25mph. Due to weak wind shear, these storms are struggling to reach severe levels, but if these storms continue to get organized, the main threats will be frequent lightning, moderate to small size hail, and strong wind gusts (Check out the current radar).
For the remainder of the weekend, the forecast stays dry, windy, and HOT. Temperatures hover in the mid 90s, with gusty wind up to 25mph occasionally out of the south.
