In an effort to encourage his kids to step away from the television and gaming systems and into the backyard, Ronny Dawson had to get creative.

"I thought why not build a plane? So I came up with the idea of a zip plane, and I've never seen anything like it", says Dawson.

A few days off work and about $150 later, Dawson's idea took flight. "It's been a lot of fun, and it's been a challenge. But we got it done, and we are having a great time out here", Dawson tells us.

And when his kids found out they would be spending more time outside, they were far from upset. "Playing out here is a lot better than being taught", says Evie Kisner and "My dad is good builder", 6-year-old Derek Dawson tells us.

Dawson even took safety precautions by hanging up multiple ropes and special brakes for the zip line. And now for much less than an expensive gaming system, the Dawson family has an outside activity they can all enjoy.

Just in time for Father's Day, the kids told us they're thrilled to see what other exciting projects their dad will be working on in the back yard.
