Updated: June 17, 2012
Celebrations for the qualifying high schoolers began today at a breakfast at the Texas High School Rodeo State Championship, which has been in Abilene for the past week. Four athletes from each event will be headed to rock springs to represent Texas, and it looks like the best of the best have been chosen.

"We've got a lot of good rodeo athletes in Texas. We get the best that come to Abilene, and we're taking the best to go over to rock springs," said Steve Dickey, State President of THSRA

Texas has won the national competition for the last three years.
