Abilene Woman Killed Crossing The Street

An Abilene woman was killed while crossing at an intersection Friday night.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on South 1st St. and Portland Ave.

Police said an elderly couple in a minivan hit 54-year-old Mary Bowdon as she crossed.

Bowdon was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

Abilene Police are still investigating the crash, but said their preliminary investigation found the driver was not impaired.
