Bobbie Skipper, who suffers from dementia, was last seen on the afternoon of June 14 driving away from her Carlsbad home in a light blue (dark blue top) 1995 Buick Roadmaster, New Mexico license number "JHG-412."
Mrs. Skipper's husband had just died of natural causes in the home, and relatives believe she became distraught and fled to an unknown location. The Skippers were home alone at the time of his death.
Their son discovered his father's body later that day.
Mrs. Skipper had not driven a car in approximately five years prior to leaving the residence, according to her niece (Sandra Burleson) who lives south of Potosi.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Skipper were born in Abilene, and moved to Carlsbad in 1962. They both have friends and relatives still living in the Abilene area.
She last visited Abilene in April of this year.
Anyone with information regarding Bobbie Skipper is asked to contact the Taylor County Sheriff's Office (325) 674-1300, the Carlsbad Police Department (575-885-2111, ext. 0), or any law enforcement agency.
