The hardest part is not remembering.

Herbert McCormick is there encourage each of his patients every step of the way.
He cares for several senior citizens like Richard who have are dealing with dementia. 
He's there not to do things for them, but to to be there with them.

One person in the US is diagnosed with Alzheimers disease every seventy seconds.
Often times leaving family members to care for them twenty four seven.

Experts say the best way to cope is with preparation.

There are now even free online courses family members can take to help understand the disease and how to cope with it.

Training is what has helped caregivers like McCormick give patients the attention they need.
Its all about patience, attention and providing good company.
