Volunteer firefighters from the Lake Brownwood, Brownwood's Rescue 1, Brown County Sheriff's Office and Early Police Department responded to a one-vehicle rollover accident about three miles north of Brownwood on FM 2125 Tuesday night after 7:00. According to law enforcement officials on scene, it appeared that a 24-year-old female driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off of the road, causing it to flip.

The driver was initially going to be airlifted to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident, but was instead taken by Guardian EMS. Officers say she was conscious, but her condition was not released at the time of the accident.

As one volunteer fireman responded, he found himself in an emergency of his own as his GMC pickup suddenly caught fire on the way to the wreck. The entire cab of the vehicle burned, but the driver was able to escape without injury.
