Police Searching for Owner of VFW Pin that Could Help Solve Burglary

By: Joey Hollingsworth
Updated: June 20, 2012
Several ongoing investigations by the Abilene Police Department have led to the recovery of a Veterans of Foreign Wars enameled pin that they believe could be tied to a burglary.

APD is now trying to identify the owner of the pin in hopes that information obtained in the process will help clear a burglary.

The only information so far is derived from the pin itself. The original owner was a past VFW Commander of Post 9179 in Stamford, Texas during his assignment between 1955-56.

Police ask anyone who can help by identifying the past commander or to whom this pin recently belonged, to contact Sgt. Mike Baird (Street Crimes Unit) at (325) 676-6588.

If for any reason you wish to make this report anonymously, please consider contacting Sgt. Baird via Crime Stoppers reporting at 676-TIPS (8477).
