Friday evening will be rather comfortable for most as lows reach into the upper 60's to low 70's across the Big Country. Skies will clear out quickly and basically stay clear, making way for a mostly sunny weekend. Temperatures won't be so pleasant though as we reach into the 100's by Sunday. A high pressure will be sitting over the panhandle by the start of next week that will dominate our weather with dry and hot conditions every day throughout the next work week, with temperatures easily ranging from 100-105F across the region.

Tips for Staying Safe in the Heat:
To help stay cool and safe through this potentially dangerous heat, remember to know your physical limits. Try to limit outdoor activities, or remain in heavily shaded areas. If you must be outside, wear light colored clothing, take frequent water breaks and don't forget to apply and re-apply sunscreen throughout the day. And don't forget about those pets! Bring them into the A/C frequently and be sure they have cold water in a shaded area.
