Nolan Co. Voters to Decide Fate of New Jail, Courthouse Repairs

By: BigCountryHomePage.com Staff Reports

Voters in Nolan County will decide whether or not they want a new jail.

A petition was presented to the county commissioners on Monday requesting the multimillion-dollar project be voted on by the citizens instead of the commissioners court.

After verifying that the petition had the required number of valid signatures, commissioners voted to add the jail construction to the ballot for November's general election.

The vote would also include repairs to the Nolan County Courthouse.
