Last night at about 9:30, Officer Mary Guitar contacted a motorist for running a red traffic signal at South 14th and Sayles Boulevard. Officer Guitar contacted the female driver. During that contact, Officer Guitar smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Officer Guitar's investigation revealed the driver to be in possession of a small baggie containing marijuana. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Last night at about 9:50, Officer Matthew Allen was dispatched to the area of North First and Green Street for a stolen vehicle call. Officer Allen's investigation revealed that an unknown suspect took the victim's Ford Explorer without permission. Shortly after taking the theft report, at about 10:30 p.m., Officer Allen spotted the stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Green Street and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The sole occupant of the vehicle, an uncooperative male suspect, was detained. Officer Allen's investigation revealed that the suspect claimed he had given an unknown male some money to borrow the Ford Explorer. A records check revealed the suspect to have a felony warrant out of Harris County for non-payment of child support. The suspect was arrested on the warrant and for felony theft of the motor vehicle.

Just after midnight, Officer Damien Hutchinson contacted a motorist in the 2100 block of North Willis Street for a traffic violation. Officer Hutchinson contacted a male driver and smelled the odor of alcohol coming from him. The driver also showed indicators of intoxication. The driver agreed to have field sobriety tests administered to him but refused to continue the tests shortly after Officer Hutchinson began giving them. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and refused to provide a breath sample.
