A family of six, including a 7-day-old baby made it out of their burning home safely Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of Clinton around 2:00 Wednesday morning to find flames they say sparked in the attic after an electrical issue.

Damage is estimated at $10,000, but the family is happy to have escaped safely.

"It was real scary, 'cause the baby was in the back room with us, and so, when you wake up to something burning like that...you never know what's going to happen," says the home's owner Johnny Garcia.

The fire is still under investigation.
