Snyder Tops Water Usage Limit

The City of Snyder exceeded it daily water usage limit last week, averaging just over 2 million gallons per day (mgd).

The city has been restricted to 1.8 mgd and has been under that mark in each of the past three weeks.

Snyder used 2.59 mgd on the peak usage day last week.

Odessa, Midland and San Angelo have the highest usage in the Colorado River Municipal Water District.

Lake J.B. Thomas is currently 0.7 percent full, after receiving no inflow last week, while the O.H. Ivie Reservoir is 15.47 percent full.

Thomas has just 1,410 acre-feet of water left. Ivie, by contrast, has 85,755 acre-feet.
