An Abilene native, Baum was drawn to Colorado City due to his love for baseball. His desire was to be able to keep other sports fans up to date on the latest news.

Baum has been working in Colorado City since 1980, and he says what keeps him going is his relationship with the community.

Now acting as reporter, on air personality and news dierctor at the radio station,  Baum's KVMC has definitely carved itself into the city's rich history.
