Scurry Co. Hospital Board Approves Renovation Cost Increase

By: Snyder Daily News
Updated: June 28, 2012
The Scurry County Hospital District board of directors heard a favorable financial report Thursday morning and voted to spend additional money on the renovation project to add security lighting for the employee parking lot.

"Our finances are in tremendous shape compared to our peers around the state and the country," said board chairman Russell Riggan, who was also elected to another term as chairman. "Our goal is to break even in our operations."

He added that the latest financial information reflected the highest number of ER visits in the past 15 months.

Dr. Bid Cooper, chief of staff, also said that five babies were delivered in a 24-hour period last week.
