Blackwell July 4 Celebration Set for Saturday

The Blackwell Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual 4th of July celebration, parade and barbecue on Saturday, June 30. A parade will kick off the event at 5 p.m. on Main Street in Blackwell.

At 5:30 p.m., the Blackwell VFD will be selling barbecue brisket and sausage plates with all the trimmings at their station located on Main Street. Plates are $10 for adults and $5 for children, with all proceeds benefiting the Blackwell VFD.

Starting at 9 p.m. a dance will be held at the AMA/Techtel Pavilion, located at the Blackwell Riding Arena. Music will be provided by the "Tejas Brothers". The dance is hosted by the Blackwell Riding Club with a $10 cover charge and is BYOB.

Guests are also asked to bring their own lawn chairs. All proceeds from the dance will benefit the Blackwell Riding Club, a nonprofit organization.
