Her Expo Promotes Local Businesswomen

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: June 30, 2012
Today was the first day of the Her Expo, which invited women who own businesses to come together to meet each other and create contacts. Various businesses were present, along with some wine tasting and live music. But the main purpose of the expo was to get the names of these businesses out for the Abilene community.

"A lot of these businesses don't have store fronts. So they don't have a lot of ways to connect with people. And it's just a way to get out there and to let Abilene know what businesses we have out there that don't have your typical store front," said Kim Harris, co-host of the expo.

There was also a diaper drive at the event, and all diapers collected went to the local diaper bank.
