Yard Sale to Raise Money for Local's Kidney Transplant

By: Kristin Anderson
Updated: June 30, 2012
A yard sale to help a man get a new kidney. Raymond Ferguson's family was out trying to raise $30,000 by selling items donated by the Abilene community. Raymond was recently diagnosed with Goodpasture's syndrome - a rare disease that requires a kidney transplant. His daughter said the community support has been extremely helpful for her father.

"I've actually cried a couple times. Cause it's really, it's nice to know that there's people out there that really do care, and really look out for us. And i mean, stuff like that, it's just really awesome to know that they're actually there. There are people out here who really do care, and they help," said Kimberly Hernandez.

There will be a bake sale fundraiser sometime next month to help Raymond raise $250,000 for his transplant.

Donations can be made at www.transplants.org under the Patients We Help tab.
