It was just a few years ago when the Anson High School was given a new gym.
It was a two point two million dollar project..
Now there are thousands of dollars in damage after a small water leak.

Superintendent Jay Baccus says by the time they discovered the water leak it was already too late.

The gym floor soaked up the water and buckled in some spots and rose in others
The leak started here with a pinhole in a pipe, then drained towards the the gym

They hope to have the floor fixed by the time the basketball season starts, but first they will have to find out what caused the leak that did so much damage.
Engineers are scheduled to visit the school tomorrow
