A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash within the city limits of Coleman Monday, July 2. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Highway 153 and US Highway 84.

At 7:32 p.m., Devin Tayler Winchell, 23, of Spring, TX was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo east bound on State Highway 153 when he failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign at the US Highway 84 intersection. Winchell's vehicle was struck broadside by a 2006 Dodge pickup driven by Stanley Cole, 22, of Coleman.

Winchell was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:45 p.m. by Judge Nance Campbell, and was taken to Walker Funeral Home in Coleman.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
